New Security Measures for Internet Banking Accounts

Beginning on January 1, 2012, new FFIEC rules take effect requiring all FDIC-insured banks to implement multi-layer security for Internet banking, ACH transfers and other financial services. These changes are intended to make your financial transactions safer. Learn how these changes affect you by pressing "Continue" on the appropriate category below.

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) was established on March 10, 1979, to prescribe uniform principles, standards, and report forms for the federal examination of financial institutions by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (FRB), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), and several other governing bodies. The FFIEC also makes recommendations promoting uniformity in the supervision of financial institutions.
